Dr. Lisa Butler, DMD
Dr. Lisa Butler obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2009. She completed her MBA with an emphasis in Health Services Management from Webster University, and her Certificate in Public Health from UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Butler started her dental journey at the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, 1994.
Dr. Butler has been practicing biologic, biomimetic dentistry since 2010 when she purchased a dental practice from one of the pioneers in holistic biologic dentistry, Dr. Terry Lee, in Phoenix, AZ. She grew that dental practice into Integrative Dental Associates, and eventually sold it to her long-time dental associate, Dr. Amelia Ellingson in 2018. Dr. Butler then moved with her family to Napier, New Zealand and worked at Dentiq Dental until June 2023. She has returned to the US with her family to open her new dental practice, BioDent, in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
Dr. Butler has been privileged to be able to participate in dental mission trips to Mexico, Belize, and Honduras.

As a dental professional, Dr. Butler stays up to date on the latest advancements in holistic and biologic dentistry, ceramic dental implants, interceptive orthodontics, and dental materials in order to provide the most state of the art treatment options for her patients. Dr. Butler understands that the trust and rapport developed between her and her patients is one reason her patients do not want to be referred to a different provider to have services done. Dr. Butler prides herself on being able to provide her patients with the care and treatment they need while minimizing the need to send a patient to a different dental specialist.
As a doctor, she recognizes that her patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in her and her team. Dr. Butler also understands that each patient presents with a unique situation and therefor requires a custom treatment solution. This is one reason she provides services like Clifford material testing and salivary diagnostics, to be able to tailor the best solution to the patient’s needs.
Dr. Butler is a wife and mother who enjoys walking, yoga, and Pilates. She enjoys the small town "feel" of San Juan Capistrano and the wonderful climate of Southern California.
